Valentine’s day is a day to show those around us some extra love and care. What better way to do this than making delicious and simple Valentine’s day snacks. I have curated some healthy snacks the whole family will love.
Rainbow Frozen Fruit Pops
You’ll need:
- Yogurt (I recommend lowfat vanilla yogurt)
- Diced fruit in rainbow colors of choice (blueberries, kiwi, strawberries, mango)
- Heart mold– (silicon molds work best)
Steps:
- Add yogurt and fruit into the heart mold
- Put in the freezer for 1-2 hours
- Ready to serve
Chocolate Covered Pretzels
You’ll need:
- 1 pound chocolate (white, milk, dark etc.), melted
- 1 bag pretzels or pretzel rods
- colored sprinkles
Steps:
- Melt the chocolate
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. This will make cleaning so much easier.
- Hold the top of the pretzel and dip in melted chocolate. Gently shake off the excess. Hold over a small bowl, sprinkle with the sprinkles. Place on a lined baking sheet to set.
- Leave the pretzels on the baking sheet to let the chocolate harden in room temperature. (I don’t recommend putting in the freezer as this tends to make the pretzels hard.)
Fruit Kabobs
You’ll need:
- Bananas (2-3)
- Strawberries
- Heart Cookie Cutter
- Lollipop Sticks
Steps:
- Wash and cut strawberries using the heart shaped cutter.
- Slice bananas into 1 inch pieces.
- Push a lollipop stick through the middle of a strawberry heart, add a banana piece and repeat 2-3 times.
- You can let these chill or serve immediately.
Heart PB&J
You’ll need:
- Heart shaped cookie cutter
- Bread
- Peanut butter or almond butter of choice
- Jelly
- Fork
Steps:
- Cut bread slices with the cookie cutter.
- Spread a generous amount of peanut butter and jelly on each slice.
- Use a fork to crimp the edges of the bread together.
- Serve.
