A couple of weeks ago, I had the rare opportunity to escape the house solo to try out the latest salon and spa to hit Scottsdale, Shona. Shona Salon & Spa is in a shopping center just off Northsight Boulevard and the 101 (right behind Costco – we moms all know where that is amiright?), where apparently another salon was once located. But don’t be fooled if you ever visited that previous salon because Shona has been completely remodeled and is under new ownership. They added the entire spa side of the business including the pedicure chairs I sat in and tranquil massage rooms.
Being just a few weeks postpartum, this was my first outing by myself after having baby number three and I was in desperate need of a pedicure. Everyone on the staff was super friendly from the time I called to make my appointment, through the time I walked out the door at the end. I was offered a bottled water when I first arrived and was shown the rainbow of colors on the wall to choose from. They also offer gel mani/pedis and had a lot more colors for that, although I just went with a regular pedicure on this day. I indulged my tired and sore postpartum muscles in the brand new massage chairs and chatted with another mom client who sat next to me and our two lovely nail techs as we enjoyed our solo mama time. My tech did an amazing job buffing and polishing my toesies and I left feeling happy and refreshed.
I was also highly impressed by Shona’s very affordable pricing and expansive list of services. From nails to hair, waxing to body treatments, they have you covered! And I love that they use Aveda products in the salon too.
Mamas, you deserve a couple of hours to yourselves! Shona has all the ways to make that time you do get away worth it, so treat yourself. Definitely go check Shona out as soon as you can!
