4 Things that Will Change Your Life {No Joke!}

I love discovering new places to go, things to do and fads to try. It might just be my thing. Once I find something new that I absolutely LOVE, I have to tell everyone about it. This is all I can talk about. By the way– none of the businesses listed here have paid to be mentioned but I think they are so great that they are worth including!

Really these discoveries have CHANGED MY LIFE. I hope you will try one or all so they can change your life too!

  1. No more shaving
    I started getting laser hair removal on my legs. I have already done “other” areas and was very happy with the results. But it hurt like a {enter many curse words here}. Then I heard about a new pain-free laser hair removal procedure. It is at Spa 810 on Camelback Road and 24th Street. I can’t say that it is completely pain-free….but it is MUCH less painful than the old laser. It is also much cheaper than the procedures I got done 3 years ago. The best part is that even though I have had just a few treatments done on my legs so far – I only had to shave a total of three times this ENTIRE SUMMER. That is life changing! (If you go, ask for Rachel and tell them SMB sent you)
  2. Everyone says sitting is the new smokingfitbit
    I bought a fitbit Charge and a fitbit Flex (both work well, but have different features). I bought two so I can charge one while I wear the other one, plus one is smaller and they are each in different colors. If you haven’t heard, the fitbit tracks your steps, heart rate, calories burned and sleep pattern. This has been life changing in a few different ways. First of all, it showed me how even if I exercise, I still rarely meet my goal of 10,000 steps. I was delusional thinking that I was doing enough exercise everyday. But really, I am not even close. To be honest, I like to watch tv and I work on the computer most of the day, so I am just not moving enough. The fitbit has opened my eyes that I need to do more. I also have become fitbit friends with people who challenge me to daily and weekly competitions. This really pushes me to take the stairs, take an extra walk after dinner, and walk around the field instead of sitting at soccer practices. It is not only pushing me, but the kids want to be involved too. (If you get a fitbit, friend me on your fitbit app, we can help push each other to our goal! toedteal{at}cox{dot}net)
  3. Wh-What Size?!?
    I found myself without a proper bra that fit well. So I made my way to the Nordstrom third floor lingerie section to get sized. If you haven’t heard, they are experts at bra sizing. I had not been sized since before children and I knew that I had increased through both pregnancies and later changed again after breast feeding ended. Well I was shocked to learn that I was not wearing the right size (by several sizes), and I was wearing the bra completely wrong. The sales associate told me that you want the bra wire to be resting on the rib cage, not on the breast tissue. Who knew? I am happy to have made that visit and feel like a new woman. Wish I would have done that YEARS ago!
  4. Better than a corset
    I started doing Barre3 classes a few months ago and I am shocked at the change in my body. If you have not heard about Barre3, it is a barre (mix of Pilates, barre and yoga) studio located in the Scottsdale Airpark. I love the class. It is tough, but you know it is changing your body. It truly is the first exercise that I have ever done that I can physically tell is changing my stomach shape. I can only handle two classes a week, but I know if I could make it three or more, I would be in the best shape of my life. Plus the teachers are super nice and the group is so welcoming.

There it is, the four things that have changed my life. Have you tried any of my new favorites? What did you think? Do you have any other new trends that I should try? I would love to hear what you are talking to your friends about! Please comment below.

  1. I agree about Barre3. I started taking classes there this summer and have gotten really good work outs that have increased my strength and worked muscled that I forgot I had!!
