Visiting Santa’s HQ at Fashion Square, as presented by HGTV

Remember the movie Elf where the mall Santa scene looks like something out of a nightmare? That is not what you’ll find if you go to Fashion Square seeking some face time with the jolly old man. Santa and his helpers have gone high-tech.
The wait starts with a turn on the Naughty or Nice O’Meter. Both of my kids managed to make it onto the nice list (phew!), and jumped for joy when they saw their results. I didn’t dare offer myself up to the naughty or nice o’meter- I have a feeling I’d just barely squeeze onto the nice list! Next up is a Magic Mirror where kids can jump into a scene as an elf. Finally, kids can take the reins at Santa’s Control Center, where they learn about his sleigh. Did you know Santa’s ride features twin turbo engines and in-flight navigation?
When you think about it, how else could he possibly make it to every child’s house in one night? iPads were available for peeking into the place where gifts for all the good boys and girls are stored, but my kids didn’t stop for this final activity. They had their eyes on the prize- Santa!
Finally, the big moment arrives. Santa welcomes them with open arms, and my kids hand over their multi-revised lists. He listens carefully to what they have to say and I watch the magic dance in their expressions.
Santa’s headquarters at Fashion Square makes it even easier to visit by allowing you to book online here. You must purchase a photo package at the time of your reservation, but if you’re planning to buy the photo anyhow, this can save you a ton of time. Visit HGTV’s Santa HQ website to learn more.
