A few weeks ago, I had the incredible opportunity to sit down and chat with Nate + Jeremiah about their new line for Living Spaces. Yes, Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent. Yes, in person. No, not on Instagram live. They were here in Scottsdale (I know, right?!) at Living Spaces launching their new line.
Their partnership started with curated in-store and online vignettes hand-picked by Berkus and Brent to inspire Living Spaces guests, followed by a capsule upholstery collection launch in Fall 2018 inspired by the duo’s travels and the things they have collected along the way. We had the best discussion about curating our own collections. They love to thrift and mix fun finds with beautiful pieces they’ve collected while traveling. Nate + Jeremiah truly believe in having what you love and what really works for you in your home. There is no magic formula. As you get to know yourself and what you love, surround yourself with it. It’s truly that simple.
Why Living Spaces? They chose Living Spaces to work with because they love the company. It has a wonderful mom and pop shop feel to their customer service and delivery commitments. The attentive staff will help walk you with any questions you have about what works in your space and your budget.
We also had a chance to talk about their beautiful children, Poppy and Oscar. As a mother of five, I wanted to know if parenthood has affected their design decisions. It absolutely has! They believe high design style should come at affordable price points. Their new line incorporates fabrics that are family friendly and there are a few more rounded corners on the coffee tables.
As I spoke with them, their kindness and warmth was so very evident. They are truly polite, attentive, and passionate about helping you love your home. They want your home to tell your story – not some other version of their story. They want you to be able to launch into sweet memories of a day shopping at a flea market with friends or a special trip with your spouse whenever a guest in your home compliments one of your vignettes. Looking around at what they have created for us is like looking at a gift. They have worked very hard to translate family, design, budget, and home into a line of home furnishing you will love.
I walked away from our time together feeling like I’d just made two new best friends. (I’m pretty sure they felt the same way!). And, if you need to know the couch they sat on, let me know and I’ll meet you at the store. Happy designing, friends!
