Trusting Connections and Arizonans for Children partner to kickoff National Family Literacy Month with an event on Nov. 1 for National Family Literacy Day.
With a legacy of supporting the communities they serve, Trusting Connections Nanny Agency is proud to partner with Phoenix based non-profit, Arizonans for Children and aid in their mission to meet the needs and improve the fragile lives of the children in Arizona’s foster care system.
The partnership provides tangible opportunities for Trusting Connections to use their resources and expertise to support area families. In keeping with one of their core values to be community servers, Trusting Connections’ Phoenix Care Director, Ana Rizzo and team of agency employed nannies host a monthly book reading and arts/crafts activity at the Arizonans For Children Visitation Center which is a safe, family-friendly space in which children in foster care can safely visit with their parents.
Foster children want to be just like other children- with forever families, playing sports, day-dreaming, valuing the importance of making time to read and participating in a craft session with someone special to them. These events celebrate the tireless efforts of Arizonan’s for Children as just one initiative that supports their work by augmenting their family programming.
On Nov. 1 Trusting Connections will be on-site to read “If You Give A Mouse a Cookie” by Laura Numeroff and lead a mouse-shaped art project along with completing an alphabet chart.
And on Nov. 19, they will be on-site to read “Thanksgiving is For Giving Thanks” by Margaret Sutherland and enjoying making a Thanksgiving craft.
As of July 2019, there were over 13,400 children in foster care in Arizona. Arizonans for Children Inc., a 501 (c) (3) non-profit, exists to facilitate opportunities and provide effective solutions to alleviate hardships and improve the fragile lives of the abused, abandoned, and neglected children in foster care.
There are many ways for anyone reading this to help Arizonans for Children’s various initiatives. From volunteering to serve at a center or in a children’s program to simply donating funds, food or materials. If you wish to learn more about how you can volunteer please read more here. If your organization offers a service or program for at-risk-children find out more about partnering with them here.
