I have a secret obsession with planning birthday parties. I do not do anything over the top or too extravagant, but I really enjoy just pulling all my ideas together for a celebration. Anyone who has thrown a party knows how much work they are, and it can be exhausting. Last year we had my daughter’s birthday party at Pump It Up where they really did almost all the work, we just signed the check, and my husband said we are doing that every year!
Sadly, Pump It Up is no longer open, which makes one less venue here in Scottsdale to host a birthday party. Although the regular places are still fun and exciting for kids, I’ve discovered some unique birthday party venues you can add to your list.
iFly – I am sure everyone has noticed the large building right off the 101 near the baseball stadium here in Scottsdale. iFly is a unique experience where friends can experience what it feels like to jump out of an airplane. They host birthday parties for up to 20 people where each person can suit up to “fly”, share pizza and cake in their party room, and even provide party decorations! How fun would it be to add mini airplanes, and those parachute guys, to your goody bags!

Laser and Mirror Maze– Located right in the Arizona Boardwalk right next to the butterfly pavilion is a little hidden gem we have stubbled across. They have two rooms with lasers. One room, the kids will run around and touch as many lasers as they can in a few minutes to see how many they can get. The other room is an obstacle course where you must go over and under different laser beams to get across the room. The third room is an exciting mirror maze that will get you lost and turned around with all the illusions of mirrors. The party room in the back includes cupcakes, decorations, and even goodie bags!

Knights at the Round table– How fun! Kids or adults can enjoy this fun party experience. They will have their own section to watch the show that includes a full dinner! Each guest will get a group photo, a cheering banner, slice of cake, and even a slushie with a souvenir cup! You can include plastic swords, crowns or even ask guests to come dressed up!
