Confession: I have an over abundance of Sterilite plastic containers. They are great for organizing and inexpensive.
They get the job done.
Now, bringing the containers inside my home? That’s a different story.
They lack the warmth and detail furniture provides, so they usually get crammed in a closet or under the bed. Doing their job but…well, behind the scenes.
So when I wanted to create a stylish Craft & Gift Wrapping space without breaking the bank, I discovered the amazing potential for these containers!
What I used: 2 cans of gold spray paint, one Sterilite container and a pack of metal accent labels. That’s it! In less than 30 minutes and less than $30, this is what I came up with:
Everyone asks about the tags used in this article. Here is what we found on Amazon, metal adhesive tags.
Oh My Goodness, GENIUS! I have one of those plastic bins relegated to the garage at the moment because I couldn’t bear to bring it indoors – now I can! Thank you!
Thank you, Sara!! I appreciate your comment! It definitely put a smile on my face 🙂
Hi,
I Absolutely Love Your Craft Storage Idea/Space,
However Where Did You Find The Tension Rods Skinny Enough For The Ribbon Rolls?
A Typical Shower Curtain Rod Is Too Thick,
I Live In London, Ontario
So I Am Hoping That You Live In Canada As Well So I Have A Chance To Get Them As Well,
Thanks For Showing All Of Us How To Make Those Plastic Dressers (I Don’t Know What Else To Call Them) Look Nice Enough To Not Hide Them In A Closet ?
I live near London. Try tension curtain rods (Fabricland). They come in a variety of lengths.
So cool! Love all the ribbons and wrapping ready to spool out. brilliant!
Thank you very much Monika!! 🙂
It looks beautiful 🙂 What exactly did you use in the closet to hang the wrapping paper on the rolls?
Thanks so much for the brilliant idea!
Hi Marla!
Thank you so much for your sweet comment! I used rods from Target that were only $3.14 each! 🙂 Here is the link to my blog post about all my purchases for the gift wrapping station: https://kelleymorrison.com/?p=1260 Enjoy!
Hi!
Where did you get the accent labels?
I love the project!!!
How can I follow you. Feedburner would not allow it. Beats me.
How well has the paint held up on th plastic storage container. I’m wanting to paint some ikea to fast buckets…
I had the same question as above, but saw no response. Does the paint “stick” over time? I would be afraid it would peel or run off as the drawers are opened and closed?
I love this idea and thank you for sharing but it drives me crazy when bloggers don’t say where they got all of their supplies from. Where did you get the label holders? Are they just stick on? The label holders are they most important part of making this looking more fashionable and high end.

The gold with tge paper and ribbon patterns gives the wrap station a very boho look.💜
Where did you get the ‘tags’ for the drawers infront?

Hi Cherise! The author of this post is no longer writing for Scottsdale Moms, but Amazon has some great choices right now! https://www.amazon.com/Wicker-Storage-Bins/s?k=Wicker+Storage+Bins
