Are probiotics good for you?

In the past few years, probiotics have become one of the most popular suggestions to treat gas and bloating, constipation, and immunity health. Although the word, probiotics, may be familiar to us, we may not understand what benefits they offer to us.

What are probiotics?

Probiotics are strains of good bacteria that are either the same as, or very similar to, the bacteria that are already naturally present in your body. They are natural, non chemical solutions to support life-long health.

Truly healthy bacteria are known as probiotics – live microorganisms that are proven to benefit our health by restoring the bacteria balance in the body.

When I read the words – ‘natural and non chemical’ – it caught my attention. If I am going to put something in my body, I want to make sure it is as close to natural as possible.

80% of our immune defense is located in our gut.

Did you know that probiotics are not all the same? Before reaching for a probiotic off of the shelf, be sure you research the brand and understand the health benefit you are looking for.

Which probiotics are the best?

BioGaia has been researching for over 30 years. With a network of over 50 research institutes around the globe, BioGaia is committed to the science behind their products. Numerous clinical studies have shown the health benefits of BioGaia probiotics.*

BioGaia has over 200 clinical trials and are recommended by pediatricians and health care professionals.

BioGaia’s Lactobacillus reuteri (L. reuteri) is one of the MOST WELL RESEARCHED probiotic species in the world. L. reuteri is one of few bacteria that has co-evolved with humans and because of this it naturally colonises and has a strong adaptation and interacts with us.

When I visited their website, I was fascinated by the education and research they offer. I did not feel like they were trying to see me something, but instead they were trying to offer education and help.

Do you take probiotics? I’d love to hear what you think!
