For the Love of Pumpkin

Pumpkin bread, pumpkin spice latte, pumpkin rolls, pumpkin cookies, pumpkin pasta, pumpkin….it’s that time of year again.

I’m so excited! Every year, about this time, when the pumpkin spice lattes make their annual debut, I get ready for all of the new pumpkin treats I will get to sink my teeth into. My favorite spot to find a new favorite is Trader Joe’s.

Everything Pumpkin

October 8th was the release date for the newest Fearless Flyer, where TJ’s highlights the latest and the greatest. It had all the details about the newest additions to the pumpkin lovers stock. Over the years, I have learned that you need to jump the gun. You need to beat the post and get yourself to a TJ’s ASAP. If you wait until the Flyer release, you are bound to discover a new favorite and by the time you get back to the store, they are out of stock until next year. My advice: get to TJ’s yesterday, buy one of everything pumpkin, and get sampling.

At least, that’s what I did.

Over 20 pumpkin items

Five bags of pumpkin flavored goodness loaded into my car

Two trips to TJ’s

Many happy tummies 🙂

Here are my thoughts:

Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls…my personal favorite. Just enough pumpkin without sacrificing any cinnamon perfection. I have three cans in my fridge…

Pumpkin Bread Mix…I make mini loaves and sub orange juice for water and add a half a cup of dried cranberries. Make an orange glaze out of juice and powdered sugar. Delish!

TJspumpkin2Pumpkin Pancake and Waffle Mix…my friends are dairy/gluten free and swear by TJ’s gluten free version. Substitute applesauce for the eggs and no one can tell the difference from the regular pumpkin pancakes.

Pumpkin Butter…use it like apple butter, but they say you can make a soup out of it.

Pumpkin Soup…I serve it every year on Thanksgiving for a light lunch or appetizer before dinner.

Pumpkin Macaroons…fabulous. These are right up there with Laduree 😉

Individual Pumpkin Pies…perfect for a little treat after dinner or on a dessert tray.PumpkinTJs5

Pumpkin Joe Joe’s…my kids favorite AND they don’t make a mess. Score!

Pumpkin Granola…try it on vanilla yogurt–yummy.

Pumpkin Ravioli…beautiful presentation with two toned raviolis and sweet smooth taste. Simple butter sauce and you are all set.

Creamy Autumn Harvest Pasta Sauce…love how many veggies are crammed into this. Pair it with some plain noodles and you can really enjoy the added veggie taste.

Fall Harvest Salsa…oooh this is good. I found seasonal Halloween tortilla chips at Cost Plus World Market, combine, and voila.

PumpkinTJs4Pita Crisps with Cranberries and Pumpkin Seeds..much sweeter and crunchier than I expected, but they grow on you. Perfect if you need a little crunch and a little sweet.

Pumpkin Poptarts…poptarts, need I say more?!?

Pumpkin Cranberry Crisps…add some goat cheese and it make a great appetizer plate.

Pumpkin Cereal Bars…why not? A nice pumpkin flavor that the kids will still eat.

Iced Pumpkin Scone Cookies…cute presentation and tasty, frosted cookies. Not sure what makes them a “scone” though.

PumpkinTJs3Pumpkin Spice Salted Caramels…an acquired taste. The box looks beautiful and would make an impressive hostess gift…if you know they would like them.

Pumpkin Bread Pudding…hubby’s favorite. Add a dollop of whipped cream and you are set to impress.

Pumpkin Oatmeal…my husband LOVES it. I’ll pass and have another pumpkin cinnamon roll.

Pumpkin Biscotti…want to add just a little flavor of the season to your day? Perfect with a cuppa in the morning.

Pumpkin Kringle…best pumpkin buy in the store. These go for twice as much directly from the bakery.

I am in no way affiliated with Trader Joe’s, I’m just a fan with a love for everything pumpkin.

You name it, I’ve probably tried it. And if I haven’t, I’ll have to!

Are you a fan of this Fall flavor? Let me know your favorites!
