Before and After

My friend Merry just had her second baby girl and is balancing this adorable new baby with a 2 ½ year old, a husband, and she is studying full time to boot!  Girlfriend needs a nap!

With no time for sleep, we turned to my bag of tricks.  You too can look alive and alert with these few steps.

  • Foundation and powder–  For a lighter application try wetting your makeup sponge before applying foundation.  We used a Foundation Stick from Bobbi Brown and loose powder from Mac.
  • Eyes

  • Fill in brows with eyeshadow using an eyebrow brush.  We evened out Merry’s brows with Omega eyeshadow– it’s a great color for blonds or those with lighter brows.
  • Place a wash of eyeshadow over lids and into crease.  We chose a shimmery brown with a hint of orange to bring out Merry’s eyes.
  • Eyeliner-  We used both a dark brown eyeshadow with an angle brush and MAC’s liquid liner in black.
  • Mascara- don’t be afraid to go for more than one coat!  We used 2 coats of Maybelline’s the Falsies.
  • Cheeks

  • Bronzer-  Brush it on where the sun naturally hits your face for a healthy glow; over your cheeks, the bridge of your nose, and a light dusting on your forehead.
  • Blush- we used a hot pink on Merry to add a cheeful glow. Smile, apply to apples and blend outward.
  • Lips

  • We lined Merry’s lips with a flesh toned pencil, focusing on the cupids bow giving her more shape.
  • Gloss it up!  We used a very neutral lip glass from Mac.
  • That was it!  It sounds like a long list but it should take no more than 10 minutes.  Merry was obviously cute before, but a quick once over and she’s polished and ready to go!  Bonus, her husband liked it too.
