Arizona Halloween Activities for Older Kids

How to do Arizona Halloween Fun with older kids!

Arizona Halloween

After spending years going to pumpkin patches and other fun Halloween events all around the Valley, my kids have just outgrown the little kid activities. But they are not old enough for the super scary Halloween Haunted Houses like 13th Floor or Fear Farm. I actually think they would be traumatized for life if I took them to one of these haunted houses (even though they think they are old enough…there is no way they are ready for that experience)!

Searching for something more age appropriate, I found two Halloween Haunted Houses that are more tame and perfect for older kids that aren’t quite ready for the “real” haunted houses.

Haunted Graveyard– local Scottsdale family friendly attraction, entry for a $5 suggested donation. Only open the weekend through Halloween! This event is still very scary. Only one out of my three kids was brave enough last year to enter the house. But this year, I am hoping for two out of the three.

Horizon High School– the high school drama department puts on a Haunted House for the public. Entry is $5, or $4 with a canned food donation. Friday night and Saturday night only! Doors open at 5pm. This event is really appropriate for all ages, it is a little bit scary, but not too scary.

Do you know of any other Arizona Halloween activities that are great for older kids but not too scary? Please post in the comments below! And Happy Halloween!
