September 18 is National Cheeseburger Day! We polled our Scottsdale Moms Blog contributors to create a list of our favorite cheeseburgers around town. Here are a few of the highlights (in order by group vote).

best burgers1. Shake Shack

We love the relaxed vibe of Shake Shack. When the weather starts to cool off, you can enjoy your food on the patio with games to entertain your family while you eat. You can also plan dinner around Kierland Common’s summer concert series.

Try the SmokeShack burger, topped with applewood smoked bacon, chopped cherry peppers, and ShackSauce™.

2. Zinburger

Stop in to enjoy the upbeat atmosphere at Zinburger. Or, grab your burgers to go and enjoy them while your kids play at the Scottsdale Quarter splash pad.

Our contributors recommend Clint’s Almost Famous Veggie Burger. It’s topped with avocado, tomato, lettuce, smoked mozzarella, and mayo. It’s extra delicious on a lettuce wrap.

3. In-N-Out Burger

If you’re looking for fast, affordable food, In-N-Out Burger might be your style. Their food is never frozen or microwaved. The whole family will enjoy watching them make food the old-fashioned way – don’t miss the potato-chopper! If you ask, they’ll even give your kids a hat and stickers to play with while they (briefly) wait.

Feeling hungry? Try a Double-Double, with two patties, two slices of cheese, onions, lettuce, tomato, and special spread. If you’re watching your carbs, their lettuce wrap is a refreshing option. Indulge in something sweet; add on a neapolitan shake from their secret menu.

4. Cold Beers & Cheeseburgers

Catch the game at Cold Beers & Cheeseburgers, on one of the dozens of TVs. They make their food in-house daily, using fresh ingredients.

The Cheeseburger Sliders, served with caramelized onions & au jus sauce, are sure to be a crowd-pleaser. If you’d rather order a regular size burger, try the pretzel bun!

5. Smashburger

If you’re driving around the valley, you’re likely to see a Smashburger. This fast-casual restaurant smashes each burger for ten seconds and then brushes it with buttery goodness.

If you’re looking for something with a bit of a kick, try the Buffalo & Blue Cheeseburger. It’s topped with Frank’s Red Hot Buffalo Sauce, lettuce, tomato, mayo, and served on an egg bun. You can also create your own burger from bun to patty to toppings. Add an order of sweet potato fries for a sweet crunch.

6. Hopdoddy Burger Bar

Hopdoddy Burger Bar puts the burger on a pedestal. They create small batch burgers, carefully monitoring the quality and taste of the food. They also use an in-house bakery and butchery.

Our contributors had to recommend two burgers here. If you like flavor, try the Llano Poblano; an angus beef burger, topped with applewood smoked bacon, Tillamook pepper jack cheese, seared poblanos, lettuce, tomato, onion, and chipotle aioli sauce. Another option is the Goodnight/Good Cause Burger. This one is an angus beef burger, topped with Tillamook cheddar cheese, caramelized onions, jalapeños, lettuce, tomato, caffeinated BBQ, and sassy sauce. One dollar from each Good Cause burger is donated to a charitable organization in our community.

7. Houston’s

If you prefer a more formal, sit down restaurant while you enjoy a burger, check out Houston’s. Visit their website for dress code and dining guidelines.

Try a classic Cheeseburger, made from freshly ground chuck, topped with cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, and onion. The restaurant also makes fresh bread each day.

8. The Habit Burger Grill

If you’re craving a flame-grilled burger, but don’t want to fire up your own grill, head over to The Habit Burger Grill. This fast-casual option will serve up your burger in no time.

A Charburger with cheese is also topped with crisp lettuce, fresh tomato, caramelized onions, pickles, mayo, and served on a toasted bun. If you have someone in your group that’s in the mood for more cheese, less burger, they offer a delicious Grilled Cheese. One contributor says she can’t drive by this restaurant without stopping in for one of their crave-worthy malts.

9. The Stand Burgers & Tacos

Try one of the newer burger places, opened in Scottsdale in 2017, and stop by The Stand Burgers & Tacos. Check out their website to learn about their daily specials.

Try The Standard with cheese meal, served on a delicious bun with fantastic fries. They make all the burgers from fresh, in-house, ground burger.

10. Green New American Vegetarian

If you’re looking for a yummy alternative, check out Green New American Vegetarian. Their food is made from 100% plant-based ingredients, served with vegan cheeses. They use organic whenever possible.

Our contributors recommend the Big WAC Burger. Enjoy two hand packed vegan patties, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions, and special sauce served on a sesame seed bun.

Cheeseburger Time!

We hope you enjoy taking a night off of dinner duty and let a Scottsdale burger restaurant do the work for you. Splurge a little and enjoy fries and shake, too!
