I am a native from Colorado who loves getting away to the mountains for the weekend. When I met my husband he introduced me to a place where his family has a house and where they created many great memories growing up as kids. About 75 miles from Denver rests a ski resort called Keystone. Spring break is the perfect time to go because it brings a little warmer weather, less crowds, and a whole slew of activities for the family to enjoy. In 2017 Keystone was ranked the top family ski resort! Here are a few reasons why our family loves going there for vacation:
Don’t want to break the bank? Kids ski free! – This is such an awesome deal because skiing can be an expensive sport. With lodging at the Keystone Resort for 2+ nights, kids 12 and under can ski free any and every day, no black out dates!
Kidtopia– Keystone has an event every day called Kidtopia. All activities are free and offered all day and night. Some activities include; arts and craft events, scavenger hunts, parades, fireworks, family game night, ice cream parties, and a 3,000-sq. ft. playground located on top of the mountain (open until April 8th).
Private family ski lessons– If it’s your first time to the mountains and your family would like a lesson or two, Keystone offers a private family ski lesson as an opportunity to bond as a family and enjoy skiing together. They also offer group and private lessons for adults and have a kid ski school, offering half and full day lessons.
- Kid ski school occupies the kids all day long so mom and dad can enjoy some “adult drinks” fire side!
Swimming and Ice skating– Most condos and resorts in town have a heated indoor or outdoor pool for kids to enjoy, and large hot tubs for the adults. There are two ice skating rinks with skate and hockey rentals available.
On March 2-10th Keystone will host a Kidtopia music experience with a rock-n-roll themed parties, a snow pants dance party, and many other kid friendly activities.
