We know there are a lot of options when it comes to choosing a preschool, and if you are still on the hunt, consider one of Scottsdale’s newest preschools. We recently had the opportunity to tour this new preschool called Scottsdale Children’s Institute (SCI) and had the chance to meet a mom of an SCI child and hear first-hand just how impressed they are with the facilities, teachers, and programs offered to all the families. We love how unique this school is compared to the many other options in the Valley.
The Scottsdale Children’s Institute is a new, inclusive kindergarten readiness program located in North Scottsdale. SCI aims to prepare children ages 2-6, both with and without disabilities, to be successful in kindergarten.
There are several reasons SCI stands out compared to other Valley schools:
- They have an open door policy with private viewing rooms available for every classroom
- There is constant communication with the parents on their child’s progress
- They are open year round, the school is only closed on major holidays
- They focus on positive behavior in a calming, nurturing environment
- The children are grouped by ability, not age
- The school was developed and is supervised by Columbia University trained Ph.D. level supervisors with teaching and learning expertise
SCI’s highly trained teachers implement evidence-based curricula and deliver highly effective instruction in the areas of reading, writing, mathematics, social skills, play skills, language development, and more! The school focuses on a highly academic curriculum which is individualized for each child. Extensive data collection on each teacher-child instructional interaction is used to evaluate the students. This leads to quick and precise adjustments that help children make efficient and meaningful progress at SCI.
Also unlike other schools, insurance, private pay, and ESA fund options are accepted (some limitations apply).
SCI is hosting an open house on Wednesday, September 13th from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at their location in the Scottsdale Peak business park.
