Four Seasons Giveaway and Getaway Review

69
My family and I recently had the opportunity to stay at the Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North. With a toddler in tow, I really wanted to write this review in a way that gives local mamas an idea of what you get when you are lucky enough to book a stay. I think it is a fantastic option for a weekend getaway for you and your family!

So, first things first… the  things you wouldn’t notice about a hotel until you have kids:
  • The children’s pool. It was a foot deep, and my toddler LOST HER MIND when she was able to walk and play in it. She could have stayed in there forever. Also—it’s all in the details—they had MINI LOUNGERS. Can you stand the cuteness? I really wanted a photo of Evelyn on one, but she was incredibly unhappy every time she had to get out of the pool, so that photo never happened. Sad face. Don’t worry, they also have a big pool for the older kids, and an adults-only whirlpool if you have a sitter.

Kid Pool

  • A family friendly room. They provided a full-size crib that was easy enough to move around the room, but comfortable enough for our toddler to sleep all night. The bathroom had a tub with an adjustable shower head – great for rinsing off kids after pool time. And they took the time to baby proof around the edges of the night stands. My toddler is tiny and couldn’t have bumped her head if she tried, but I definitely appreciated the sentiment! Within a few minutes of being there, Evelyn had learned how to climb up on the fireplace and hide in the cubby in the closet—she loved it.

We were also able to check out a few other amenities while we were there:
  • Movies in the pool. On Saturday nights in the summer they put out a huge screen, and you’re able to swim with the kids and watch a flick. They have a trunk full of pool noodles to grab, and I smelled popcorn cooking (even though my toddler didn’t make it through most of the movie). We were there on the very random (very rare) weekend where it was actually chilly (yep, in AZ, in the summer). The pool was still the perfect temperature and we all thoroughly enjoyed watching the movie while the sun was setting in the background.

  • Proof Restaurant: The website describes it as an “American canteen.” They had a great variety of options, and the kid’s meal was a great amount of food! There were a few other kids in the restaurant, so I wasn’t nervous about it being too fancy to bring a toddler to. In fact, one of the kids spilled a full cup of juice next to us and the staff was so understanding that I felt immediately at ease. We tried the steak salad and lobster roll, and Baby Girl had mac n cheese, veggies, and fruit. For dessert—an amazing shake (caramel, brownies, heaven).

Proof Restaurant

  • Breakfast in-suite. Proof also provided our breakfast. We called and ordered, and it was delivered within half an hour. Since the weather was beautiful (again, odd and rare for an AZ summer) we had them set up our breakfast on the patio. We had the egg white omelet, the breakfast burrito, and the biggest bowl of Cheerios you’ve ever seen! So yummy that my toddler stayed still throughout the entire breakfast!

Taking your kids on vacation really makes you notice things you may have missed before. All in all, the staff and amenities at Four Seasons were extremely family-friendly (something you may not always get at a “fancy” getaway), and were incredibly welcoming. My family and I had a great trip—and now it’s time for you to do the same!

  1. I would like to win the give-away for a few reasons. My husband and I both work crazy hours and travel with our jobs. We have 3 beautiful children as well. Winning this Staycation would give us a chance to reconnect as a family and a couple. We’ve never done a Staycation although we’ve lived in AZ for 8 years! Taking time with each other to be together and put the cares of the world behind us for a few days sounds ah-mazing! Thank you for the review of the four season’s. I had no idea that they were so kid-friendly!

  2. I liked both pages on Facebook! Scottsdale Mom’s Blog and Troon Four Seasons. My post on why I should win was a few minutes ago as well. Thank you! 🙂

  3. What a fun weekend getaway!! I too had no idea how kid friendly this resort is and it sounds like heaven!!!!! I’m due at the end of July with our second little boy and I could think of no other perfect staycation for a little getaway and relaxation time!!! We have only lived here for 2 years and would love be able to take a new adventure and discover this amazing resort!

  4. I would love to spend some time at this beautiful resort, what a treat! I follow you both on Facebook.

  5. My husband and I will be together for 10 years together in August and it would’ve lovely to enjoy a stay here as we would otherwise not be able to afford a staycation. I have a baby and toddler who would love to roam around this place! I love this blog for ideas around the valley! Either way, it will be a goal of mine to stay here. It sounds lovely!

  6. What a wonderful treat! Being a family with 2 toddlers just 16months apart makes travel “interesting”…ha!! A staycation would be the perfect way for us to spend time together as a family without having to conquer all the normal travel obstacles/hurdles with our littles in tow!

  7. Sounds like fun!! We are looking for a new staycation venue this year. Would love to check it out!

  8. My husband and I got married at The Four Season’s over five years ago. We have always said we want to go back at some point for a vacation but we have been busy with work and our 5 month old daughter. It is such a beautiful resort and I would love to spend a few days just relaxing.

  9. I’ve lived in the valley for years and never realized The Four Seasons is a kid friendly resort. I’d love to win the staycation, it would be a time for myself, husband and two daughters to relax, regroup and reconnect by exploring the beautiful dessert in North Scottsdale.

  10. I’d like to win mainly to give my husband a break – I work/travel and we are living with my parents. He has been great at working and being single dad while I work and dealing with nuances of in-laws (on a minute/hour/daily basis). This would give us both a much needed ‘space’ of our own – pretend we’re in our apartment again and enjoy time with our little one without feeling like we’re breaking into our savings.

  11. I’d love to win because we haven’t taken a family vacation since the baby was born almost a year ago. It’s too overwhelming to even think about! To know that the Four Seasons is little one friendly is amazing.

  12. I would love to win this prize. I was unemployed for 3 years, then got a job for 6 months and I am unemployed again after being laid off.

I am getting discouraged at the job search and we haven’t got the resources for a vacation. We are going stir crazy with a toddler in the house all day too! We could all just use a change of scenery. I can’t think of a better place!

  13. Oh my gosh this sounds amazing!!! I would love to spoil my family with a staycation at a luxurious resort, it would definitely be a first for us. We would definitely take full advantage of that awesome kid pool!!! Thanks for putting on such an amazing giveaway!!! 🙂

  14. I would love this because my husband and I work opposite shifts & days. We have not had a family vacation in years. I work graveyard weekends & he works m-fri days. We would love a getaway !

  15. I would love to win this for us since we had our daughter this year and would like to go on a stay-cation with her. I also have always wanted to stay at the 4 Seasons but it’s not in the budget this year since we both started new careers!

  16. I would love to win, being pregnant during the summer is tough already. But nice little stayacation would be so nice and relaxing for this high risk pregnant mama. It would be fun for our little daughter to have fun at Troon and feel like we are getting away.

  17. I’d love to treat my life long friend to this opportunity! She lives out of state and is one of those ladies who never says “no” to doing for others. She’s been my uplifting, encouraging friend since a tragedy in my life in fifth grade! She can’t afford to come visit me here in Arizona due the cost and even though I offered to treat her she didn’t feel she could say “yes.” She is an OB nurse and loves on others through her skills/talents and did come help me for a week after I had twins six years ago. I would like to surprise her with this getaway and love on her for all the love she gives to family, friends, others in need. If she think it didn’t “cost” me anything to shRe this experience with her I know she would accept!
    Thanks for the opportunity!

  18. I would love to win this staycation at the Four Seasons!!! We are unable to take a family vacation and we are relatively new to AZ ! I’ve never been to this resort and it looks like a blast for the kiddos! Thanks for the great giveaway!

  19. Also following Scottsdale Moms Blog (you guys are awesome!) and Four Seasons at Troon FB pages!

  20. WOW! Amazing giveaway! If I won then would need to decide if we take the kids or just go with my hubby. We have never been there before and would love to check it out!!!

  21. I follow both on Facebook. What a great write up about this resort. I would love to take my newly expanded family here for a staycation. We have two girls, 3 years old and 6 weeks. Would love to be able to use this staycation as a way to celebrate our 7 year anniversary on August 9th.

  22. Love this hotel! The restaurant is so fun- we went of a BBQ night last summer and loved it. Would love a reason to go back and enjoy it all again! Liked both pages 🙂

  23. Twin 2 year old boys and a baby on the way means we could always use a vacation. We love to take our boys on new adventures and this sounds like an enjoyable family friendly opportunity. I liked both on FB.

  24. I would love to win this staycation because it has been WAY too long since we have had a vacation and this would be such a treat!

  25. Does it get any better?! We are waiting on my husband’s green card, which is taking months. I want to show him some of the awesome offerings of the southwest. We would love to take our 1.5 year old and make this satiation also a baby moon before baby #2 is on the way. I love Four Seasons!!

  26. Who doesn’t need and appreciate a staycation? Summer is the best time of year in AZ! I follow you (SMB) through Facebook already and I just liked the Four Sesons at Troon North!

  27. Oh ladies, what a treat that would be! My husband and I just recently bought a house so an out of town vacation is out of the question. Usually for Father’s Day and for our anniversary we do a staycation. What a way to spend 4 years together and to bring our son (maybe) to spend a day or two enjoying the amazing ammenities. Not to mention what a wonderful idea before heading back to work in August.

  28. I want to win this giveaway because the Four Seasons Resort at Troon North has the most beautiful views of the Valley – super relaxing and so incredibly appointed!

  29. Our family would love to stay at the 4 seasons! Since we have 20 month old twins running around, anything outside of our day to day is a vacation!
Side note – sounds like someone with kids of their own is in charge of making families comfortable there! Baby proofing table edges?! And look at that toddler tray of dinner! That is definitely the work of someone who knows toddlers 🙂 Stoked to see that someone there really cares and puts in that extra thought and effort!

  30. WOW!!! I had NO IDEA some of the local resorts were so kid-friendly! We’ve taken 2 kid-friendly staycations since our 2yo was born, but I’d love to include her. She would FLIP OUT over the kiddie pool–and that super-yummy-looking mac-and-cheese. 🙂 I love that they babyproofed the room…it’s the little things, right?

  31. Following both on FB! I would love to win this staycation for several reasons: Both my partner and I work full time and he is currently also in school studying and will be testing for the Phoenix Fire department. My children are away for 10 weeks over the summer with their dad in CA. My oldest son (turning 11!) and I both have birthdays in August. An opportunity to get “away” to reconnect as a family, decompress and celebrate birthdays and a new career would be SO wonderful!

  32. My family would love to win this staycation! My husband and I spent our wedding night here and would love to go back with our children. We both work long hours and will not get a chance to go out of town for a family vacation this year – we would love to connect with each other in such a beautiful setting. Thank you for offering this giveaway!

  33. We love The Four Seasons and have eaten at Proof several times; it’s a great spot to take
visiting friends and family. I’d love to win this stay-cation to celebrate the upcoming August arrival of baby number 2!
