Yellowtail aims to redefine tribal-inspired design and bridge the gap between original truths and impeccable luxury. Her unique approach allows for each piece to reflect a story rooted in sacred inspiration, yet seamlessly integrate into the modern catwalk. The story behind her next collection is all about authentic continuity and moving the designs of her people forward.
Yellowtail’s work will be included in the Peabody Essex Museum’s “Native Fashion Now” exhibit, alongside iconic fashion designers like Isaac Mizrahi. The exhibit will be running through March of 2016.
Where does she get her inspiration? Her instinct, is based on a rich history of Native American women who had a gift for creating artisanal beauty – in particular as a member of the Apsaalooke and Northern Cheyenne nations.
