A great idea for this weekend: See ANNIE and help Kids!

daddy_annie_webI know it’s true! When you were a little girl you LOVED Annie! We all did! We adored the optimistic red-head in a red dress, her hero Daddy Warbucks, and her impressive entourage of dancing orphans singing with her in agreement, that The Sun will Come out Tomorrow!

Well, if you’re looking for something fun and different to do with your family –and a great way to kick off your Holiday Season… then Leapin Lizards,  Do I have great news for you!?

ANNIE has come to Phoenix and your kids are going to love seeing it this weekend!

CYT Phoenix’s production of “ANNIE” opened just last Friday.  The show features nearly 50 local youth ranging in age from 8-18.  It’s a hard-working cast and they bring a joy to their craft!  This show is filled with lots of energy, amazing musical numbers and a heartwarming story about what it means to find a family.  But there’s another great reason to see CYT’s “Annie”…

For this show, CYT is partnering with Operation Christmas Child, a charity that packs occshoeboxes with gifts and treats and sends them overseas to needy orphans just like Annie.  Since 1993, more than 100 million boys and girls in over 130 countries have experienced joy through the power of simple shoebox gifts from Operation Christmas Child.

Audience members at each performance have a chance to sponsor a box or the cost to mail a box by visiting the OCC table outside the theater.  And hint hint if you look closely, you might even spot a few of those boxes making a cameo appearance under Daddy Warbuck’s Christmas tree at the end of the show. Seriously- what a sweet way to help a child in need and a great lesson for the children lucky enough to get to see the show!

With only four more chances to see this great performance, it’s worth noting that tickets are going fast!  Don’t miss this wonderful opportunity to share “Annie” with your family and maybe share some love with a child around the world.orphans_web_2
