Favorite Pinterest Recipes | My Obligatory Pinterest Post

2

PinterestRecipesI recently read a blog post about a person’s favorite Pinterest fails.  You know, those things you pin and try that totally don’t come out like anything closely resembling the original.  While this blog was hilarious and a great reminder me that no one is perfect at everything, I finished reading it wishing it had been written on Pinterest successes instead.  Because then I would have new things and ideas to try instead of wondering if my next Pinterest project would be a total bust.

So I thought I would write my own post.  And share it with you.  I love cooking and Pinterest has become my best friend when it comes to finding new recipes to keep my kitchen from becoming stagnent.  However, as with star ratings on recipe sites, I find myself often questioning when a pin comes with a tag like “best macaroni and cheese ever!” because what if that person has never had macaroni and cheese and this is the first one they tried.  Right?

Also, you should also know that I try all my Pinterest recipes on other people first.  While this may sound cruel, I think it’s actually quite brilliant.  If everyone loves it, it’s a success.  If everyone hates it (or it doesn’t come out right), then Pinterest becomes the easy scapegoat.  I also know that I now have many friends reading this and wondering but thankfully, most my Pinterest trials have been huge successes.  Here are some of my personal favorites:

1. Slow Cooker Cheesy Chicken and Rice (Pin found here) – this dish is simple, easy, fast and delicious.  I made even made it for a small group pot luck and brought tortilla chips to eat it with.

2. Texas Sheet Cake (Pin found here) – this is The Pioneer Woman’s version.  If you know anything about her, you know it will be amazing.

3. No bake chocolate chip granola bars (Pin found here) – I adapted these to be gluten free for our house and the first time I made them, they were gone in an hour.  After that, I started tripling the recipe.  Simple, easy, delicious and much cheaper than box granola bars.

4. Kahlua-Pecan_Brown Sugar Baked Brie (Pin found here) – Doesn’t the name say it all?  This is amazing and has been devoured every time I’ve made it.

5. Avocado Chicken Salad (Pin found here) – Another simple, easy crowd pleaser.  I love cooking chicken the crock pot in just chicken broth or water.  Makes it super tender and easy to shred for recipes like this.

6. Crock Pot Lasagna (Pin found here) – This is a great way to cook lasagna.  Mainly because you can let it cook all day and forget about it and it. is. delicious.

So I could go on.  And on. and on.  Is anyone suddenly hungry?

What about you?  What are your favorite and most successful Pinterest recipes?

  1. I have had my share of Pinterest blunders so I also am weary of some recipes. These all look great. I’m looking forward to trying the Crock Pot Lasagna – it almost seems too good to be true!
