My Experience with Summer Camps| Scottsdale

I can tell summer is right around the corner because my kids (and I) totally have spring fever. No one wants to go to school anymore. I have run out of creative lunches to pack them. And we all just want to spend our afternoons outside playing. So that means it is time to start planning for summer camps. Here are my experiences with various summer camps around town. My take on summer camp is that it is a great time to try out different sports and activities that we don’t normally do during the year.

camps1This summer we are going to do a session at Dessert Stages Academy.  I know a ton of friends that have done these camps over the years. The camp for older children is amazing and it gives the kids a taste of the theater life. My kids are most excited about this camp.

We will do a week at the Seth Korey Tennis Camp.  I started tennis lessons a couple of months ago with Seth Korey Tennis Academy, and my kids are dying to take lessons too. The instructors are amazing with the kids, and I love how the camp mixes various activities throughout the week.

I am also planning a week at Arizona Sunrays Gymnastics Camp. We did this camp last year for a week. The girls loved it and my favorite part is that they have a drive up spot designated for drop off and pick up.  When it is 115 degrees outside, I greatly appreciate this feature.

Don’t forget the Harkins Summer Movie Program. It is cheap and very air conditioned; what more could you ask for? Tickets go on sale April 12th!

So, add in swim lessons, play dates and a couple of weeks for lazy days, and we are set for the summer. I hope I was able to give you some ideas for your summer with the kids.
