July New & Noteworthy | Scottsdale

2

Hey Everyone! If you have followed any of my past posts, I love to talk about great finds in the Valley and what we are doing to get out of the house. So I thought I would try a new format today. I am going to do a run-down of all the things that my mom friends and I are talking about. What new places we are excited to open or other newsworthy items to share with all of you. Here goes . . . .

Have you tried the new popcorn store that opened up a few weeks ago at Scottsdale Road, just south of Acoma? It is called My Popcorn Kitchen. I checked it out this week and brought along my 3 year old. It is super cute and has a ton of flavors. I am so happy to find that they had my favorite, the caramel and cheese mix (I am a sucker for sweet and salty at the same time – yum). I also think this would be the perfect place to go if you are looking for a small gift or house warming present.

I love my pediatrician, but I avoid going there like the plague. If we have a sick kid, it is hard to get in the same day. The wait is long, and odds are the appointment time is right in the middle of someone’s nap. So I am really excited to see Phoenix Children’s Hospital opened an Urgent Care Center right here in Scottsdale. It is a bit of a drive to get to their main hospital, but I love that there is a closer location with the same quality of care. Plus, the MinuteClinic is great, but I really like the idea of kids-only focused care versus other urgent care locations that see adults too.  The new Phoenix Children’s Hospital Urgent Care is located on Shea, just west of Scottsdale Road.

If you are in the market for some new children’s furniture, you have to check out Jami B’z furniture store this week! The owner is getting out of the retail business to spend more time with her family. The furniture and décor is Pottery Barn quality, but if you get there before they close for good, everything is marked down drastically. It is hard to find a deal on good quality kids furniture, so I had to share this great find with everyone. (If only I could convince my husband to let me re-do the kids rooms!)

I hope you like this new format idea as much as I do. And if you have any great ideas that should be shared with all of our great mom readers around the Valley, please email me angela(at)scottsdalemomsblog(dot)com!
