Love’n The Kitchen

Do you ever watch cooking shows and wish you could be in that kitchen to taste and experience the food that the Chef is making look so easy? I can hold my own in the kitchen, but sometimes those intricate or unique dishes seem a little too complicated.  I think, “If I could just pause her for a moment and ask how she did XYZ, I could do this.” Or “I wish my watering mouth could be satisfied with just one bite of that dish.”
Recently, I had the opportunity to do just that.  I was invited to Love’n The Kitchen‘s Celebrate Fall cooking class.  It was like sitting in on a cooking show.  A hospitable and cozy feel are given to the classes held in the owner, Connie Goetz-Kirchner’s, Viking-sponsored kitchen.  This particular class was not hands-on.  It was better.  In an intimate group just feet from her stove, we were able to see and smell Connie and her assistant, make a fabulous fall menu.  She would pause occasionally sharing about cookware, oven settings and favorite products.  She engaged with each of us in where we were at in our cooking journeys and encouraged us to try new things.  We were served each course, engaging all of our senses.  Each recipe was easy, delicious and fail-proof.  Being able to bring new skills and recipes home to my family was nothing short of life-giving.

In speaking with C0nnie, she shared her heart behind starting Love’n the Kitchen.  Growing up she was blessed with the privilege of cooking with and learning from her grandmother and mother.  She carried that love, skill and tradition into her own home years later.  Serving delicious, memorable dishes was a legacy she was handing down to her children.  Knowing what  a gift she had been given, she resolved to share it with others around her and began Love’n the Kitchen.  Between busy schedules and unique upbringings many of us could benefit from knowing a few excellent standard dishes to give our families.  It establishes something we long for, comfort and family time.  Our children could then pass this on to their children.  Love’n the Kitchen offers a variety of classes to equip women in nourishing and uniting their families through food.

Check out Love’n the Kitchen’s website for a diverse array of these classes, including Mommy and me classes, gingerbread house making classes and opportunities to learn from other great chefs.  For those mommas that will be joining us for the Mom’s Night Out later this month, you will have the opportunity to meet Connie in person and learn more about her passion! I am sure you will be as encouraged and excited to get cooking as I was.
