BABY DIARIES | 7 Months- Easton’s DIY Mirror Wall

0

Easton has a favorite place in our house. It’s where we play, read stories, spend tummy time, and visit the “other baby”…It’s his MIRROR WALL!

See, he absolutely LOVES it!

This was one of the easiest and cheapest projects I did in his nursery; it took about $12 and 10 minutes. Here’s how…

SUPPLIES:

  • 8- 12” Square Mirror Tiles
    • I used tiles from IKEA. They come 4 to a pack for $5.99 and include the adhesive backs. Round tiles could also be very fun.
  • 1- Ruler
  • 1- Level or a baseboard to align the first tile
  • 1- Sheepskin rug (Easton loves the softness of the wool. Mine was $29 from IKEA, but it’s completely optional.)
  • Goof Off or Goo Gone for down the road when you want to remove the tiles

STEPS:

  1. Choose a low wall area approximately 2.5’ high by 4.5’ wide.
  2. Level your first mirror tile by lining it up with the baseboard. Use adhesive strips to secure to wall.
  3. Use the ruler to space the next tile either to the left or right of the first tile.
  4. Once you’ve finished the bottom row, use the ruler to space the next row above the first.

In Easton’s nursery I used only 8 tiles, but in our master bedroom I created a much larger mirrored area. So, the sky’s the limit. Maybe your little one would love this area as much as Easton does!

DISCLAIMER: I realize that at some point with toys ramming into the walls and a toddler Superman “flying” in his room…this will no longer be a safe décor option. Use your mommy judgment here!
