Chic New Eco-baby Store

If you are ever around the Shea/Scottsdale Rd. area in the near future, you have got to stop at the cutest little boutique.  It’s called Liv Eco Baby Boutique and Diapery.  SMB loves supporting local businesses, and this one is actually owned by a Scottsdale MOM!  A couple weeks ago I met Christine and was so impressed by both her store and merchandising.  She was so kind to show me around the store and I could even hear the sewing machine whirring in the back room where her mom is making the sweetest little ruffled rompers that they sell.

There are so many things I like about Liv – the organic, eco-friendly merchandise, the unique flair she puts into her baby gifts, and the focus on sourcing items made directly by the artist or designer.  There’s a lot of creativity going on here.  Take the “Sweet Shop” items, for example.  You can give a gift of onesies or bibs that have been arranged to look like candy or sundaes!  The same goes for some gorgeous floral-like “bouquets.”  Christine really cares about the “eco” part of this store.  She even dyes her own fabrics to make sure they meet her standards.

I don’t even have space in this post to tell you about the other venture Christine is running out of this shop, Tidy Diaper.  If you are interested in cloth diapering, you should check it out.  I know about 10 women who are expecting right now, which is bad news for me–because I’m going to be headed back to Liv, a lot.
