At SMB we want to bring you information and inspiration from around the Valley and beyond. Here are some clickworthy links from around the web this week. Enjoy!

I absolutely love this SimpleMom.com post about repurposing old cards and letters.

T-minus one week until Father’s Day! Okay, I know this is sooooo 2009 to admit, but I’ve only recently discovered Etsy (had heard of it before but never spent much time on the site). Check out some Father’s Day Gift Guides if you’re looking for something unique and handmade!

I’ve written about how I take TONS of photos with my iPhone and how Instagram is my go-to app for fun photo editing. So now it turns out I can turn all those faux-artsy pics into a screensaver on my Mac! (See also: I am a geek.)

Is it just me, or do you and your spouse have your own set of shorthand abbreviations and acronyms when you text each other? If you know what I’m talking about, this post is hilarious (earmuffs alert: a couple of four-letter words and some mild adult humor in this one).

And shifting from a little low-brow to pretty high-brow (because I can do both, you know :)), here’s a super thought-provoking piece on how creativity and “breaking the rules” may be the key to our kids’ becoming future innovators (and not just successful rule-followers).

Need a motivational pick-me-up this week? Try this one from a five-year-old on YouTube – SO CUTE.

Sarah Powers is a writer and Scottsdale mom of two. She came to the valley from Southern California by way of Chicago and would take Arizona summers over Midwest winters any day. A perfect day for Sarah starts with coffee, ends with chardonnay and includes lots of baby giggles and sticky-fingered kid kisses in between. She loves high ponytails, showtunes and using her kids as an excuse to stay in and go to bed early, which she would do anyway. Sarah often tweets and sometimes blogs about the messy, tender, fun, funny and irreverent moments of parenthood.

    • Erin, thank YOU for finding us and stopping by! I found your piece via Amy Wilson/Mother Load (one of my all-time faves) and thought it was hilarious. Didn’t know you were an AZ girl – even better! 🙂
