Parker’s Pick | The Phoenix Zoo’s Orangutan Exhibit

MY dear sweet 20 month old is quite possibly the biggest fan the monkey population has ever had. He has carried around ‘Mr. Monkey’ since the day he was born. He has loved Curious George. He has begged to walk through the Monkey Village at the Phoenix Zoo. But none of these things have held his attention longer or found a place dearer to his heart than the new exhibit at the Phoenix Zoo, Orang-Hutan:”People of the Forest.”

We had the wonderful opportunity to get a sneak peak at the exhibit right before it opened, and for Parker it was a dream come true. With multiple viewing locations, he was able to get an experience he did not soon forget. In fact, every morning since our trip he has woken up with one thing on him mind: “Mama, zoo!! Monkeys Mama.” He will then proceed to tell me about the baby monkey, the mama and daddy monkey, and the grandma monkey. He loved to watch the Orangutans climb and play in their new home. We felt like we were right there with them due to the floor to ceiling windows that make for a truly one of a kind experience.

If you have not had a chance yet to check it out, you MUST! It is now open to the public and honestly it is our new favorite place to go. I will admit that YES we already have plans to go sit in Duchess’ Bilik and watch our four new friends play! We can’t wait to see them enjoy all of the attention they are getting from the crowds. So head on over and see Duchess, Bess, Michael and Kasih in a whole new way.
