Like it or not – cupcakes are all the rage right now!  Me?  I LOVE it!  I mean who doesn’t love a mini cake with frosting. Heck – I loved cupcakes before they even became popular. Although I know this happens often now we even had cupcakes at our wedding (and that was 5+years ago ladies). Now I find myself constantly looking for new recipes for the next best cupcake 🙂 Maybe I’ll share some of those sometime…

However, sometimes an event calls for perfection.  And the word perfection and cupcake never match up in my kitchen – so that’s when I leave it up to the professionals.

Ya’ll have heard about Simply Sweets on Scottsdale Moms Blog because – well – to put it simply – Dana is simply sweet 🙂  For those who attended our Moms Night Out – you might remember your Simply Sweets Swag Bag goodie.  I know Carrington and Kristina loved theirs (I love you girls! ;))

Simply Sweets Cake Studio specializes in custom cakes, cupcakes and chocolates. Located just south of Mountain View off of 90th Street in Scottsdale (9393 N 90th Street, Suite #115 to be exact), Simply Sweets is also a great stop when looking for party supplies, cupcake and cookie decorating supplies, retro candy and gourmet chocolate.

OK, so I’m miss practical, and when I attended the first mom’s event at the Capitol Grill that Kelly Loubet from http://www.everydaychildhood.com hosted, Dana included one of her awesome chocolates and a package of CUTE paper cupcake pan liners. Honestly, they were on my grocery list to buy that week. Not that it’s a big deal, but it was one less thing to worry about, and everytime I use them, I think of Dana and her awesome confections!! Thanks!

    Thanks for the linkage- and I would have to say that my favorite thing from their blog are the purple and turquoise cupcakes for Urban Kidz, because I love the color combination!

  4. Lets just say, I am not generally a cupcake fan… BUT that cupcake from the Mom’s Night Out event, to die for! It was so good! They are so very talented, gosh the cakes and cupcakes on their blog are amazing! I LOVED the Pink Ladybug cupcake tower, it is adorable! Such a great idea to have that as the top of the tower.

  5. Anyone that knows me (even remotely) knows that I’ll sell a kidney for cake. So to ask me to pick a favorite is like asking me which of my children I love more. Is it possible? I say no! Of course, I will say that the one cake that was too precious was the Winnie the Pooh cake. That is a serious contender for my little guy’s 1st bday. Dana – you do amazing work. I hope to work with you someday soon.

    My favorote cake lately is the Toy Story cake. SO adorable.

  7. I am a super duper sweets freak and when i saw this post i couldn’t resist on leaving a comment, plus the chance to win some yummy cupcakes from simply sweets?! I loved looking at all of the amazing creations on the blog and one of the cutest designs was the firefighter cupcake but maybe i am biased because my little boy’s daddy is a firefighter and his nursery is a firefighter theme as well! Hope i get to win these yummy cupcakes!

  15. I love Dana’s work. She did a great cake for my husband’s 40th birthday. It’s the tequila bottle replica pictured on her blog in August 20o7. I always enjoy looking at the Simply Sweets blog to see the amazing cakes and cupcakes that Dana creates!

  16. Oh my goodness, I just looked at her website and there are so many fabulous items!!! There is no way I could choose just one but a few of my tops are the pink & black zebra cake, the luau themed birthday cake, the blue & white bachelorette cupcakes, and the ladybug cupcake tower. These are amazing and I’ll definitely keep this in mind for next year’s birthday parties!!! What an awesome giveaway!

    I LOVE the pink ladybug cupcake tower, as does my 2.5 year old daughter! Actually, everything on their blog is darling. The dipped marshmallow lollipops are a fabulous idea!

  20. There were some awesome designs on the Simply Sweets blog, but I think my favorites were the pink & green glitter butterflies, the pink & purple crowns, and the lollipop cupcakes! So amazing, and of course, the cupcake that Dana gave us in the swag bag was so delicious!

  22. I LOVE the cupcakes that are on THIS page because they were from my birthday! The colors are beautiful and they are a true reflection of me! Dana does such a great job and I couldn’t have been happier with the way they turned out…. both in presentation and taste!!!

  23. I love the 40th birthday cupcake tower. The bold colors and varying sizes are stunning. As soon as the weather cools, we’ll make Simply Sweets the destination for our morning walks. So glad to have a local bakery in the neighborhood!
