“Don’t reinvent the wheel.”

I love this little pearl of wisdom.  I assume that at any point in my life, anything that I am attempting, someone, somewhere has figured out how to do it better, quicker, with more creativity or skill etc…  Sometimes I don’t care (i.e. the best way to chop celery or to my husband’s sorrow, most effective method for doing laundry – I throw like-colored stuff into the washer and hope for the best).  On the other hand, there are times I enjoy studying the ways of those wiser who wear the badge of experience (i.e. breastfeeding, child birth, make up tips etc.)

So, when I came upon parenthacks.com I was very excited by the solutions to some of life’s little frustrations.  Here’s a sample of some of the great tips that can be found on their site:

1. How to get helium balloons down from a high ceiling
2. Simple system for storing and organizing hand-me-downs
3. Snack hack: Create single servings to teach portion control and increase independence
4. Avoiding Mealtime Battles (recommended link)
5. “Bumless” diaper lets diaper rash air out while containing the pee

Happy Hacking!
